Listen to the elderly, they have a world of experience you do not have. They learned from the same stupid mistakes you are about to repeat. Obey them, unless they go against God. Respect them, even if they go against God – just walk away and do not come back. Do not be proud, you were a major sinner with a lost soul in the past. Be humble and thankful for being drafted into Christ’s family. Act like Jesus did when He walked the earth.

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

1 Peter 5:5 (KJV)
